The purpose of the Christian County YMCA’S Sustaining Campaign is to raise funds to benefit youth and families experiencing financial hardship, on public aid or welfare to allow them the equal opportunity of membership and program services at the YMCA. The YMCA never denies anyone membership or program participation due to their inability to pay because of financial difficulties.
The YMCA is a charitable, not for profit, membership organization with its mission "to put christian principles into practice through programs that build a healthy body, mind and spirit for all." The Christian County YMCA fulfills its mission by meeting the needs of the people in Taylorville and Christian County. Peoples needs are met by having excellent leadership who instill character development in youth, quality programs for people of all ages, top notch facility and other services. People of all ages, races, religions or inability to pay are never denied access to the Christian County YMCA. The YMCA and its programs instill values that will last a lifetime.
The Christian County YMCA serves over 400 youth and families each year on scholarship assisted memberships and programs through the Sustaining Camping.
