The Boyd Dappert Youth Reservation is a primitive outdoor recreational area of land that is open to groups in Taylorville and Christian County for conservation, education, recreation and camping activities including a 1600 seat amphitheater. The Boyd Dappert Reservation is over 100 acres of beautiful woods and trails. Lake Taylorville borders the entire north side of the property providing excellent canoeing, sailing and fishing opportunities. There are a variety of different youth and family groups who use the area for exploring and understanding more about the wonders of nature. There is a volunteer Board of Directors which governs the Youth Reservation area. The Lake Department and the City of Taylorville workers keep the area clean and safe. The people of Christian County are very proud to have such a beautiful area for outdoor educational activities.
