It is the mission of the Boy Scouts of America to serve others by helping to instill values in young people and, in other ways, to prepare them to make ethical choices over their lifetime in achieving their full potential.

The values we strive to instill are based on those found in the Scout Oath and Law.

Scouting can make the difference. We predict that, for every 100 boys who join Scouting, the following will happen:

Boy Scouts of America services begin with the 1st grade, and serve boys through age 20. Our high school division, Exploring, serves young men and women beginning with age 14 and continuing through age 20.

The Abraham Lincoln Council, Boy Scouts of America maintains two camp facilities, camp Illinek on Lake Springfield, and Camp Bunn, near Hettick, Illinois.

Camp Illinek is used for Cub Scout resident camp, training volunteers, and weekend camping experiences. It contains 80 acres.

Camp Bunn is our Boy Scout Camp and consists of 640 acres. It includes a 30 foot tower for climbing and rappelling, a ropes course, an 80 acre lake, nature area, rifle, shotgun and archery ranges and much more.

Both properties are Nationally Accredited by the Boy Scouts of America.
